Neste blogue vão encontrar textos sobre livros, escrita, pequenos desafios à vossa criatividade e histórias sobre o meu percurso à medida que embarco nesta aventura que é escrever dois livros em duas línguas diferentes: um em Português, outro em Inglês. Para perceberem melhor, vou contar-vos o que tenho feito até agora. Aos 21 anos, ansiosa por conhecer outras partes do mundo, mudei-me para Macau (China) onde trabalhei como jornalista durante mais de seis anos.  Em Dezembro de 2020, após um ano de pandemia, percebi que escrever notícias já não me satisfazia. Precisava de investir noutras histórias. Voltei para Portugal e durante nove meses escrevi dois rascunhos de um livro de ficção histórica baseada numa antiga história de família.  Em Setembro de 2021 mudei-me para Londres onde tirei um Mestrado em Escrita Criativa que conclui em Janeiro de 2023. Como parte do meu Mestrado comecei a escrever uma história para jovens, em Inglês. Hoje em dia, trabalho numa editora de livros e acabei de publicar o primeiro projecto pelo qual fui responsável, "50 Women in Technology". Nos meus tempos livres continuo a trabalhar na minha ficção histórica em Português e na minha história para jovens em Inglês, tentando desenlear os nós que se vão formando no cérebro ao usar constantemente as duas línguas.

In this blog you'll find posts about books, writing, little challenges to your creativity and stories about my journey of writing two different books in two different languages: one in Portuguese, the other in English. To better understand this, I will tell you about what I have been doing so far. When I was 21, excited to know other parts of the world, I moved to Macau (China) where I worked for over six years as a journalist. In December of 2020, after a year of pandemic, I realized I wasn't happy only writing the news. I needed to create other stories. I moved back to Portugal and for nine months I worked on the first drafts of a historical fiction book based on a true story that happened in my family over a century ago. In September of 2021, I moved to London where I enrolled in a Masters in Creative Writing during which I started to write a YA novel in English. Today, I work for a book publisher and the first project I was responsible for has just come out: "50 Women in Technology". In my spare time, I still work on my historical fiction in Portuguese and my YA in English, trying to untie the knots in my brain from constantly using two languages.
